Humanity's desire to discover the unknown is now focused on the alluring vastness and mysteries of space. In order for humans to traverse this vastness, we must understand how to maintain human health in space. Currently, the International Space Station (ISS) is the best platform for researching how microgravity, cosmic radiation, and other stressors of space affect the body. Studying and communicating findings about astronaut health help to not only prepare us for missions to Mars and beyond, but also to improve healthcare on Earth. As a biomedical illustrator obsessed with space, I have serious passion for using my work to engage public interest in the investigation of astronaut health and the exploration of space.
Space exploration provides humanity with exciting opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and inspiration... it takes us to new places and ideas that we have yet to even consider. Art guides the way in this vision of the new and unknown, allowing for the imaginative depiction of subjects and concepts unable to be seen by the naked eye. Let's work together to ignite the spark of inspiration and curiosity.
