With today’s advancing medical practices, the need for descriptive anatomical images continually increases. Patients want to know what occurs in the procedures they will undergo. Practicing medical students must fully realize how to care for patients. Doctors, researchers, and inventors must demonstrate their new ideas with visuals for presentations and publications. Biomedical illustrations are not only created for and used in human and veterinary medicine, but also in litigation for cases such as medical malpractice and personal injury. These types of images are often subjects that cannot be seen by the human eye, therefore requiring the visual problem solving of an illustrator.
